Black trail - How shipping pollutes the planet, avoids taxation and gets away with it

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Objectives to fight the climate crisis are clear: global emissions need to be reduced, across countries and sectors. The shipping industry’s emissions are larger than those of Germany, they seriously impact our climate and are continuing to rise. Learn how a group of journalists investigated the shipping sector for over a year, what is the role of the IMO, the shipping industry's regulatory body,  and how the decarbonisation process is progressing.

We will also look into the industry's huge subsidies, and how it is saving billions through preferential tax arrangements offered by European countries.
