Roundtable: Confronting the 'bad guy' - when and how?
Whoever we criticize in our investigations have a right to reply and present their side of things. But at which point do you confront ‘the bad guy’ with your findings – and how? There are many answers to this in Europe – depending on the story, on the legislation and the political and safety situation in the country. In the renowned Swedish program Mission Investigate, the journalists confront the adversary early to be sure to get the story right. In other countries you have to wait until the last minute in order not the be sued – or be in danger. Some dread the confrontation, some like it, some just take it as a part of the job. How and when do you do it? Come with your experiences!
