Zeynep is a Turkish investigative journalist specialised in corruption, offshore structures, workers' rights and environmental investigations. She currently works as the Network Coordinator for the London-based news organisation openDemocracy. She is also the managing editor of the non-profit investigative news platform The Black Sea (theblacksea.eu). She was also a board member at the pan-European investigative network European Investigative Collaborations (EIC).

She was part of EIC’s cross-border investigations Football Leaks, Malta Files and Billions for Borders. With Malta Files, she and her team documented for the first time the offshore riches of Turkey’s then prime minister Binali Yildirim as well as the first family. Her other investigations include following the EU money given to Turkey for refugees, corruption in Turkish football, exploitative practices in the agriculture sector, violations of multinational companies manufacturing in Turkey, and child labor.

Zeynep has a PhD in political science from Heidelberg University in Germany.
